A Goulash That Isn't a Goulash
Warming and hearty using every day ingredients. This dish should serve four and I served mine with mash potatoes. This recipe should be suitable with slimming world from what I can make out.
Ingredients
- 1lb 1oz Lean Beef Steak Cut Into Strips (£2.79 for three frying steaks at Lidl)
- 10 tbsp. Garden Peas
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 14 floz Reduced Salt Beef Stock
- 1 tbsp. tomato puree
- 14oz tin of Chopped Tomatoes
- 3 tbsp. Lemon Juice
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
The Not-So Nitty Gritty
- Heat a frying pan and add your strips of steak once piping hot. Fry for approx. 2 minutes (or until light brown).
- Add the stock, tomatoes, puree and peas at this point.
- Then season with paprika, lemon juice and black pepper.
- Leave to simmer for 20 minutes so that the mixture has time to reduce. Stir every five minutes or so then enjoy.
